Police solve blind murder mystery

Our Staff reporter HAFIZABAD - The City Police resolved the mystery of the murder of a taxi driver namely Sajid Ali, a resident of Ghari Awan Hafizabad, following the arrest of his wife Kalsoom Bibi and her paramour Ansar, real nephew of the deceased. As per detail, the arrests were made when the deceaseds father accused that Ansar and Kalsoom had developed illicit relation and had killed his son to remove hurdle from their way. It is to be noted that earlier, the dead body of Sajid was found lying in the street near his house in Ghari Awan locality. The police was informed that someone called him outside the house and stabbed him to death. Meanwhile, further investigation is in progress. FAMILY RALLY FOR ARRESTED FOR ACCUSED: The inhabitant of Mohalla Sherpura and heirs of the murdered Razia Sultana took out a protest rally and staged a sit-in in front of DPO Office against the failure of the police to arrest the accused involved in the murder, despite repeated requests. They chanted slogans against the police and alleged that the police have extorted millions of rupees from the accused and siding with them. They said that two of the accused have been arrested but other are roaming freely. The heirs including the deceaseds brother Amanat Ali alleged that mother of five children, Razia Sultana, was murdered by her husband Siraj, son of Munir and others some three months back. They said that the accused wrapped the body in a sack and threw it into in Upper Chenab Canal near Chhiccharwali (Gujranwala) from where the Gujranwala Police recovered the body which was buried there as unclaimed. However, the body was later identified by her parents. They said that since then they were running from pillar to post for the arrest of the accused but to no avail. They appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister and the IG Police to order immediate arrest of the accused and strict action against the police officials for taking bribe from the accused to save their skins.
