LAHORE Inspector General of Police Punjab has directed the provincial police to take indiscriminate action against hardened criminals and not to please the influential people so that we can build an atmosphere for 'safe and secure Punjab. Addressing the Head Money distribution ceremony held at Police Headquarters here on Monday, he said the polices image in the society was not up to the mark due to irresponsible behaviour of some black sheep in the department. He advised the Jawans to continue their efforts for eradication of crime from the province. The IGP appreciated the police officers of Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Khanewal for showing their exemplary courage in connection with apprehension of hardened proclaimed offenders across the Punjab. He also paid rich tribute especially to the services rendered by the informers in this regard. The IGP also thanked the Punjab government for providing such amount to the police officers. An amount of Rs 4.7 million was distributed among 107 police officers with six mandatory certificates.
