OUR STAFF REPORTER MANDI BAHAUDDIN - Suspicions and speculations surrounded the double murder incident that took place here Sunday morning while the Civil Lines Police have failed to register a case of the incident so far. As per detail, six armed motorcyclists came to village Chorund, some 15-km away from here, at around 10:00am and opened fire at people setting at a Dera there. They sprayed Haji Ghulam Sarwar, his gunman Muneer Ahmed and a villager Mohammad Aslam with bullets. Resultantly, Ghulam Sarwar and his gunman Muneer Ahmed died on the spot while Mohammad Aslam was shifted to DHQ Hospital with critical bullet wounds. The police sources claimed that the incident was the result of an old enmity. Tent shop gutted: A fire broke out at Sugar Mills Chowk engulfed a tent shop owned by one Zafar Iqbal here the other afternoon. The fire-fighters extinguished the fire after hectic efforts. Though the fire caused huge financial losses to the owner, fortunately on loss of life occurred during the incident. Rescue training vital for everyone: Punjab Emergency Service In-charge Engineer Imran Khan has declared rescue that training is vital for all and sundry, saying that calamities never make any difference between male and female therefore every one and everyone should be prepared to tackle such untoward circumstances. Addressing a training session here, He said that any Rescue 1122 service was quick to response service that responds any call for help within 5 to 7 minutes across the province. He also urged volunteers to get rescue training and play their effective role in this respect.
