Country failed to cope with long Eid holidays: Ismail Suttar

KARACHI - Due to one of the longest ever holidays’ spell during Eid-ul-Fitr, the country has remained isolated from the outer world for an entire week, halting all kind of trade and exports, President Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Ismail Suttar has stated.

Suttar claimed that the country had to suffer an irreparable monetary loss. The President LCCI and Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) said the cut-off from the international business community for long is critical for a dwindling economy such as Pakistan.

The country has lost over $356 million in just five days, he added.

“The government has made it a precedent to declare long holidays just to please government employees who already lack a tendency to work honestly”, Ismail concluded.
