ISLAMABAD- Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has become active in forging contacts with legal fraternity to muster their support in his “save the democracy” agenda, in the face of long march  announced by PTI and other parties.

According to sources, former CJP has started making contacts with bar associations all over the country and a united lawyers command action committee is likely to be formed. The former CJP has requested the legal fraternity to play their role for fortification of democracy and supremacy of constitution.

Sources said former CJP is going to write a letter to presidents of all the bar councils across  the country whereby, he will lay stress upon them to play their due role to ensure sustainability of rule of law and constitution in the country.

Sources said that a few among active leaders of lawyers movement will  side with him as stalwarts like Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Ali Ahmad Kurd, Hamid Khan and several other lawyers leaders are not maintaining good terms with him.
