BAHAWALPUR - Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Wasim Akhtar said that despite the presence of civil departments, the handing over of Islamabad to Army was the government’s failure, and demanded that the parliament should immediately take notice of the situation.

The government should take stance and face the problems in a democratic way, he said and added that deployment of the army in Islamabad was equal to disappointing the people from democracy. He urged the government to revoke the decision. He said that its decision in the context of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Azadi March showed its fear. The deployment of Army ot maintain peace is against democracy, he said.

“The government needs to implement its decisions. A democratic government does not like dictatorship so that democracy can take roots in the country,” he said. He further said that in Gaza and Rafah, Israeli bombardment and killing of innocent women and children is inhumanity. He condemned the silence of America, Europe, Muslim World and the United Nation over the inhumanity and barbarism of Israel.  He said, “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should immediately call a meeting of all the religious and political parties, and prepare a plan of action to unite the Islamic world to resolve the issue of Palestine. Pakistan is an very important country in the Islamic world and by playing a key role in the matter, it can regain its lost status.”
