Shahbaz accuses govt of violating SC orders

Punjabs Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday accused the ruling PPP of defying Supreme Courts orders. Speaking to media in Lahore, Chief Minister Shahbaz said the ruling PPP has not implemented a single Supreme Courts ruling so far. Pakistan belongs to 180 million people, not to any individual, he said. Senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan termed the parliament as lazy and said delay is being adopted on every matter. The matter would not have reached Supreme Court if the government had started investigations in time, he felt. On the other hand, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raz Gilani is confident neither military nor judiciary would want to derail democracy. Political observes say that memo scandal and NATO strikes could cause internal and external problems for the government.
