The Nato air strike

In an atmosphere of mistrust of relationship between Pakistan and USA that prevailed for some time, the Nato air attack on Pakistani check posts in the Salala area of Mohmand agency has been exploited beyond proportions. Despite the fact that Pakistan lately developed a rather too harsh anti-American attitude, the USA could not possibly resort to such a mean act to sort out things with Pakistan. I therefore tend to agree with the statement of Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that it was not a deliberate attack. Being an intelligence qualified ex-army officer, I believe it to be a grave intelligence failure on the part of NATO. Since the attack caused Pakistan the loss of 24 precious lives of its soldiers, the NATO must, however, render an apology to Pakistan for the incident to console our depressed and dejected people.
