The dress that Amy Winehouse wore on the cover of Back To Black sold for 43,200 - more than four times its estimate - at auction. It was bought by the Fundacion Museo De La Moda, a private fashion museum in Chile, after competition between several phone bidders and a bidder in the room. Designed in 2006 by Central Saint Martins graduate Disaya, the dress was loaned for the cover shoot and then archived. The designer donated the dress to Kerry Taylor Auctions earlier this month. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up in the singers memory to help vulnerable young people. I cant put into words how grateful I am to Kerry and Disaya for their support and hard work, said Mitch Winehouse, Winehouses father, afterwards. We are just over the moon, and this is a wonderful start to the foundation. We are off to visit a homeless charity in Euston tomorrow and so the money will go to a good cause straight away. The auction also saw the sale of duplicates of the Emanuel wedding gown and Clive Shilton bridal shoes created for Diana, Princess of Wales, for 48,000 and 36,000 respectively. TG
