No place for Naseem Wali in ANP politics: Iftikhar

PESHAWAR - Rejecting the allegations of Begum Naseem Wali Khan against Awami National Party’s Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, ANP leaders Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that Pakhtuns are united under the leadership of Asfandyar and there is no place for Begum Naseem Wali in the politics of Awami National Party.
“Both brother and sister — Azam Khan Hoti and Begum Naseem Wali Khan — are busy in conspiracies against ANP but these conspiracies would be foiled to make ANP a strong political force,” he remarked while addressing press conference along with ANP central interim President Haji Adeel here at Peshawar Press Club on Sunday.
They said that Begum Naseem is respectful for the party but deviation from the party discipline, calling a separate grand Jirga of ANP workers and not recognising the organising committees of the ANP have proved that Begum Wali has no relationship with ANP.
They alleged that both brother and sister are on the same page against ANP and they are hatching conspiracies to create rifts between party workers and leadership. They said that both of them have converted family dispute to a political dispute and all party workers know that these rivalries are domestic and not political.
They added that Asfandyar is the legal heir of Khan Abdul Wali Khan and all Pakhtuns are united under his dynamic leadership. They mentioned that Azam Hoti’s membership has been cancelled due to violating party discipline and criticising central leadership of the party while Begum Naseem had quitted the politics on her own will.
They asked Azam Hoti if he is against ANP then why he has grabbed a seat in the Senate and why he is not resigning from his seat which he has won on the ticket of ANP. They added that the fact-finding committee of ANP has held the party organisation responsible for defeat in May 11 elections and that is why Asfandyar dissolved all party organisations to complete membership campaign and then to hold fresh intra-party elections.
