Sadia wins Women Open Squash

ISLAMABAD - Wapda's Sadia Gul won back-to-back titles, as she outplayed Riffat Khan of ZTBL in the final of the Southend-Pepsi Women Open Squash - 2013 played at Southend Club, Karachi on Sunday. It took young rising star of the country only 36 minutes to wrap-up the final
While talking with The Nation on Saturday Sadia said: “After some bad days, I started to deliver desired results. I was not focused on my game in the past few months but I had trained very hard for the past few weeks especially for these two back-to-back events. I was pretty confident the final is mine to lose as I had beaten Riffat in the past too.” Sadia won the first game 11/. Second game started on same patron but after some resistance Sadia managed to take the game 11/6. The third game was completely different altogether as Riffat exhibited her skills and at one stage she had taken a very healthy lead. But Sadia finally took the game 13/11 to take the title.
Sadia was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000, while Riffat had to settle for Rs 10,500 as runners up prize. Abdul Wahab chief executive Southend Club was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the players.
