TOBA TEK SINGH - A landlord defrauded 17 persons of huge amount by conning them into buying residential plots on “instalments in a housing scheme.”

The affected persons including Abdul Salam submitted their applications to Toba DCO Amer Ijaz Akbar against landowner Atif. They complained that the accused has set up a housing colony in Chak 762/GB, Pirmahal and had offered sale of plots in instalment to attract innocent people.

They alleged that Atif and his accomplices conned them into buying plots in the housing society on instalments from Rs24,000 to Rs45,000 per marla. Later, they fled away, giving them no land although they had paid more than half of instalments of the total price of the plots. They demanded the DCO to arrest the accused and provide them either their money or plots in the housing colony.

ACE DIRECTED TO BOOKED FRAUDSTERS

DCO Amer Ijaz Akbar yesterday wrote to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), asking for registration of a case against a stamps vendor and his accomplice for preparing a fake stamp paper to grab a residential plot.

The DCO, in his letter, stated that Shoukat Pervaiz Khan, resident of Chak 303/GB had lodged a complaint in his office, submitting that stamp paper vendor Asim Munir, Rajana with the connivance of his accomplice Jehan Zeb, resident of Tarbela Colony, Rajana, tampered with stamp paper issuance record of a stamp paper. Actually the stamp paper was issued in the name of Muhammad Asghar of Chak 263/GB for an affidavit in favour of Nadra to get issue a CNIC. But later both the accused changed it for preparation of a fake document to transfer a plot owned by the complaint in the name of accused Jehan Zeb Khan.

The DCO informed that he had assigned Gojra AC Syed Tanweer Kashif Murtaza to probe the charges who found the allegations correct.
