GUJRANWALA - The manager of a private transport company and a Traffic Police inspector have been accused of threatening a traffic warden of dire consequences for taking action against a traffic rules violator.

As per the FIR No 656/16, registered under Telegraph Act 25-D, Warden Shahbaz was on duty when he stopped a bus registration no (ES 8395) near Jinnah Chowk for overloading atop the vehicle. The warden challaned the bus despite the bus drivers repeated attempts to influence the official. After awhile, the warden received a call from Star Travels Manager Saleem alias Seema, who threatened the traffic warden of dire consequences, saying “I have asked Inspector Gull Nawaz to take departmental action against you.”

The police have lodged the FIR against the manager of travelling agency, Saleem, and also named Inspector Gull Nawaz for allegedly “supervising transport mafia.” The wardens have demanded the chief minister to take notice of the incident.
