The prime suspect behind the fire at Baldia Town factory, which killed at least 250 workers in 2012, was apprehended by Interpol in Bangkok, reported Waqt News on Friday.

According to details, Interpol personnel arrested Abudl Rehman alias Bhola from a local hotel in Bangkok on Friday. The accused is also reported to have ties with a banned outfit in Pakistan

Over 250 workers were burnt alive in a devastating fire at a multi-storey garment factory building in Karachi’s Baldia Town in September 2012.

An investigation report said that the factory fire was a planned terrorist activity involving some key members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over non-payment of extortion money.
