Islamabad - A number of religious scholars in a conference held yesterday declared the recently passed law of Sindh Assembly regarding forced religious conversion against Islam.

In 9th Annual National Mujadiddain Conference was organised by Anjuman Jalalia at Arts Council, the religious council not only declared the legislative bill of Sindh Assembly against Islam but also contrary to constitution of the country.

The conference was held under the supervision of Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jalalia, while Peer Syed Naveed-Ul-Hasan Mashhadi and others also participated in it.

The speakers also said that teachings of saints should be spread for the establishment of peaceful society and to root out terrorism from the country.

The religious scholars appreciated the religious and national services of Hazrat Mujadide Alaf Saniand Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Brelvi. Sindh Assembly in the month of November had adopted a bill against forceful religious conversions. The bill in its recommendations had set five year punishment for perpetrators, while three years sentence was recommended for facilitators of forceful religious conversions.

Nand Kumar Goklani PML-F’s had proposed The Sindh Criminal Law Bill, 2015. The new declares forcibly conversion of minor also a punishable offence; however, adults will be given 21 days to rethink on their decision to convert.
