Islamabad - The issue of non-payment of fine on school fee, in an elite educational institution, yesterday led to an unpleasant situation when two junior level students were barred from attending class while parents lodged application against school management.

According to the application lodged in police station of sector F-10, the complainant said that his sons Zaigham Khan, a student of class 3, and Sarim Khan, a student of class 1, enrolled in a school in F-10/1 were tortured in school by the teachers on the directions of school principal.

As per application, the school management didn’t allow the students to take lunch.

Talking to The Nation, father of the children, Naseem Ali Khan said that the issue of late fee led to an unpleasant dialogue between him and school management and the administration tortured his sons.

“November 21st was the final due date of submitting the fee of four months from November to February while late submission was charged by Rs 12000,” he said.

Naseem Khan stated that on non-payment of fee in due time, school management asked the children to call parents where he refused to pay ‘extra fine’ on the described fee of four months.

According to Khan despite of non-payment of fee, he kept sending his children to school with the intention of solving the fee issue with the management soon.

But, school management issued a letter to the father of the children asking him not to send his sons to school because of non-payment of outstanding due.

According to the letter available to The Nation, the management addressed to the father, ”With reference of the meeting held at 28-11-16 at your insistence on not paying the school fee unless the late charges were waived off, please be informed that you have signed the school rules.”

The letter further states, “Unless and until the dues are cleared, which you have announced not to pay, your sons will not be allowed to attend classes.”

Naseem Khan said, on the first day his sons were not allowed to sit in the class and was directed to sit in a separate room, while on the second day they were not allowed to enter in academic block and they spent entire day in school ground.

Meanwhile a representative from the school management Daniyal while talking to The Nation said that father of the children misbehaved with the school management which led to some problems.

He said that the administration is pursuing the matter and the issue of extra fine may had occurred due to technical fault.

He said there are different schedules of fee submitting according to the choice of payment by the parents.

“Children are innocent and we will properly inquire the matter about their suffering,” said Daniyal.

The administration is trying to settle the issue with parents, he said.

Meanwhile, Private Education Regularity Authority (PERA) was contacted multiple times but officials were not available.
