Food safety teams of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) have inspected sugar mills before the start of sugar-cane crushing season with an aim to make the sugar-making process chemical- free and as per hygienic standards. According to the Punjab Food Department sources, the teams inspected sugar mills as per the direction  of PFA Director General Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman. Out of 43 sugar mills in Punjab, 32 had been given notices over poor arrangements and asked to ensure reformation, sources added. As per details, 13 mills in Lahore zone, seven in Rawalpindi while 12 in different other districts of south Punjab  had been inspected. –Staff Reporter
