Measles cases on the rise in Mandi Bahawauddin

MANDI BAHAUDDIN - The number of measles cases has been on the rise as 15 patients have been reported till January 31, in the district. The aggravating situation has alarmed the residents who have demanded the Health Department to initiate vaccination on war-footings to avert the outbreak of the contagion. As per detail, six children infected with measles were brought to hospital on the 30th of the last month while nine more cases were reported at Children Hospital Mandi Bahauddin on the last date of the outgoing month. On the other hand, the hospital authorities have established a separate ward for measles patients following the rising number of the patients in the district.  The people of the district, especially those living in the remote areas are alarmed about the passing aggravating situation and have demanded head-on measures to control the disease.
