KARACHI – The law enforcers claimed to have arrested 30 suspects during targeted search operations in Orangi, Baldia, Keamari, Lyari and Chenasor Goth areas.According to details, law enforcers started targeted search operation in said areas and managed to arrest at least 30 suspects and also recovered weapons from their possession. The officials said that few of the suspects including alleged target killers were still in their custody while the remaining others were later released after they found innocent during initial course of interrogation. Extra contingent of law enforcers participated in the operations and the entire localities were cordoned off during the operation and every movement in the area was restricted.TWO MQM ACTIVISTS KILLED AMONG FOUR: Four including two activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were gunned down in separate acts of violence here on Friday.A worker of the MQM was gunned down in Sector 11.5, Orangi Town within remits of Pakistan Bazaar police station. The police said that 42-year-old Nayyar Shah, son of Shahab Shah, was going somewhere when unidentified assailants riding a motorbike shot him dead and managed to flee. He died on the spot. After getting information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the heirs. The police said that the deceased was associated with the MQM unit-109 and an employee of the KMC Health Department.Meanwhile, another MQM worker was gunned down and his companion wounded near Sohrab Goth Flyover within the jurisdiction of Yousuf Plaza Police Station.Mudassir Malik, son of Samiullah Malik, was going somewhere along with his friend Wajahat Abbas in his car when unidentified armed riders sprayed bullets on them. Resultantly, both the victims sustained bullet injuries. They were shifted to ASH where Mudassir succumbed to injuries during treatment. The police said that the deceased was the resident of Gulshan-e-Maymar area and associated with the MQM’s Labour Division. He was also working at a private bank in Sharifabad area.In another incident, a man was shot dead at Kashti Chowk in Garden Police precincts.The police said that 32-year-old Yasir, son of Younus, was a shopkeeper in Joria Bazaar where unidentified armed assailants opened fire on him. He received multiple injuries and died on the spot. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.In yet another incident, a young Hindu man was shot dead in Nishter Road within the limits of Risala Police Station. The police said that deceased identified as Raju, son of Suresh, resident of the same area, was sitting near his home when unidentified armed motorcyclists shot him dead. The police said that the victims had a criminal record. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.
