LAHORE - Islamabad squeezed into the final of National Deaf Cricket Championship making short work of Gujrat by 46 runs in the semi-final here on Friday at Shah Faisal ground.

Islamabad, elected to bat, posted 153 runs in 38.1 over with Raheem top scored with sterling 84 runs. Touqir from Gujarat took three wickets for 24 runs. Gujarat were bowled out at 107 in 30.4. M Shakeel from Islamabad took 4-12 and was declared man of the match.

Islamabad is leaving today (Saturday) for Karachi to play final to be played on February 4. The second finalist team will qualify from the Karachi round in which 16 teams are taking part.

Meanwhile, manager of the Pakistan deaf cricket association Zaheer Uddin Babar has expressed his gratitude to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Chuadhry Zaka Ashraf for extending all-out help and patronage for the successful holding of the event at Lahore and Karachi.
