MULTAN - Two more cases of measles were reported here at Nishtar Hospital Multan on Friday, bringing the total number of patients to 56. The measles epidemic has hit South Punjab region after killing about 200 kids in Sindh and the number of patients has been on the rise in the region.

The sources claimed that the Health Department did nothing to block the march of measles epidemic and instead warnings were issued to the health workers pointing out measles victims. "The health workers are ordered not to declare any one measles patient until the doctor confirms it after lab report," told a health worker on condition of anonymity.

PML-N WOMEN WING RALLY: The PML-N Women Wing activists brought out a rally against the proposed Bahawalpur South Punjab Province here on Friday. The rally started from Chungi No-8 and ended at Chungi No-9 where protesters staged a sit-in and blocked the Chowk. Holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the proposed province, dozens of protesters marched on the road under the leadership of city coordinator women wing Sultana Shaheen and shouted anti-government slogans.

The protesters demanded the government to refrain from hatching conspiracy against the residents of South Punjab and create two separate provinces in the light of resolutions of Punjab Assembly. They warned that the PML-N workers would foil the conspiracy of Zardari-Gillani duo and protect the interests of masses.
