ISLAMABAD - Top seed M Muddasir and fifth seed Talha Zubair will vie for the top honours today (Saturday) in the final of the First PTF Master Cup 2013 (boys U-18) at PTF Tennis Complex.
In the first semi-final on Friday, Muddasir won his encounter against Kashanul Haq in a thrilling three-set match. Kashan won the first set 6-2 by playing aggressive game at the net and powerful shorts from the baseline. Muddasir came back strongly winning the second set 6-1. The match was decided in the final set as Muddasir won the set 6-4 by breaking 10th game of Kashan.
In the second semi-final, fifth seed Talha of Karachi proved too good for eighth seed M Muzammil and eliminated him in straight sets 6-1 and 6-0 with the powerful baseline game. Arham Atiq secured the fifth position when he crushed Ejaz Khan of Peshawar 6-0, 6-0. Nofil Kaleem got the seventh position when he defeated Hasnain Manzoor 1-6, 6-2, 6-4. In the boys U-14, Nofil will play the final against Muzamil at 10am today (Saturday). Nofil beat Aman Atiq 6-0, 6-1 while Muzamil beat Talha Bin Asif 7-5, 7-5.
