ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari, Friday, on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved the appointment of members of the National Commission for Human development (NCHD) from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab province. Those appointed as members of NCHD included Dr Sono Khangharani, CEO, Sindh Rural Support Organisation as representative of Sindh, Saba Gul Khattak, member Social sector, Planning Commission as representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Shahnaz Wazir Ali, advisor to Prime Minister on social development to represent province of Punjab. Giving details, Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that according to the NCHD Ordinance, the Commission shall comprise of chairman to be appointed by the President, and five members including a representative of Ministry of Finance, to be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Chairman. The ordinance provides for ensuring appropriate provincial representation and gender balance in the constitution of the commission. Presently the serving members in the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) included its Chairperson, Dr. Nafisa Shah and Mrs.  Roshan K. Bharucha, Ex Senator as member from Balochistan. According to the Summary received from the Prime Minister House through the Ministry of Professional & Technical Training, representative of the Finance Division and the Ministry of Professional & Technical Training shall not be below BS 20.
