Qazi, Ghafoor paid rich tribute





RAWALPINDI - The heads and representatives of different political parties Friday paid rich tributes to the services of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan (JI) former Ameer (late) Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Prof Ghafoor Ahmed, saying both were gentle politicians served the democracy and democratic institutions.
They were speaking at condolence reference for Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Prof Ghafoor Ahmed arranged by JI Rawalpindi chapter near Moti Masjid at Liaquat Road.
Milli Yakjehti Council Secretary General Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Managing Director and PPP stalwart Zamrud Khan, Former mayor Rawalpindi Agha Riazul Islam and JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Naib Ameer Amir Muhammad Khan Advocate and others address the condolence reference. While addressing, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said that Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Prof Ghafoor Ahmed worked for the improvement of democracy and democratic institutions.
He said that they were the signatory of the 1973’s Constitution and always worked to protect it. “Both politicians never changed parties and served the country under the banner of JI. Their services for betterment of the country will be remembered,” he said.  Other speakers said that a certain lobby was on a mission to change Pakistan’s true Islamic identity. It was the need of the time to take forward the mission of the two leaders, they said.
They said that these JI leaders were never involved in any scandal of corruption in their political careers. They said that Qazi Hussain Ahmed was gifted with special talents and his death deprived the nation and the Islamic Ummah of a great scholar and a politician.
