LAHORE - A three-member delegation from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) and held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha.
The delegation was comprising USDA advisor Ian Winborne, senior agriculture specialist Asmat Raza and veterinary specialist Mubshara.
, accompanied by Animal Husbandry Commissioner Dr Kursheed Ahmad and FAO representative Dr Muhammad Afzal discussed the prospects of collaboration between the UVAS and USDA for improving livestock and exploiting the animal potential at the maximum level.
Ian Winborne said the US government would provide all-out technical support to farmers’ community to uplift the rural economy. He said that the USDA also offered capacity building training to the professionals how to handle model modern dairy farming practices.
