Scores of activists and leaders of the Majilse Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and Shia Ulema Council (SUC) took out rallies to condemn the bombing in an imambargah in Shikarpur and killing of innocent worshippers while offering Friday prayers.
According to details, in DG Khan, upon the appeal of Quaid Millat-e-Jafria Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, a protest rally was taken out against bomb blast in an imambargah in Shikarpur which participated by scores of people including the women.
The rally started from imambargah Rizvia and culminated at Traffic Chowk after passing through Pakistani Chowk, Quaid-e-Azam Road, Golai Committee and Liaqat Bazaar.
One of the rallies was led by Syed Nadeem Haider Naqvi while the other that started from Darbar Ale Mohammad was led by Syed Zaffar Abbas Naqvi.
The participants of the rallies which later converged staged a sit-in at traffic Chowk while Syed Nadeem Haider Naqvi, Syed Zaffar Abbas Naqvi, Allam Syed Shahid Hussain Naqvi, Syed Zahid Hussain Zaidi, Maulana Azhar Abbas, Syed Zaigham Abbas, Maulana Muneer Abbas, Maulana Tahir Abbas, Maulana Ghulam Akbar and Syed Ghayour Abbas Naqvi addressed the protestors.
The speakers said that the killing of dozens of innocent people showed the ineptness of the government which was highly condemnable. Earlier, Quran khawani was held at imambargah Rizwia and Darbar Ale Mohammad for the departed souls and recovery of the injured.
In Burewala, Majilse Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and Shia Ulema Council (SUC) jointly took out a rally against the Shikarpur tragedy from Imambargah which ended at Press Club on college road here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shia Ulema Council District General Secretary Syed Mohammad Raza Naqvi, Majils-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) District leader Allama Sajjad Anees, Ali Abid Chaudhry, Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Ahsan Ullah Cheema and others condemned Shikarpur incident and said that they would extend cooperation to the government for the implementation of National Action Plan. They lashed out at the government, saying that the government had failed to protect Imambargahs and scholars around the cities. They criticised the provincial government of Sindh for its failure to secure the life and property of citizens. They demanded stern action against criminals and terrorists so that the citizens could live in peace.
In Hafizabad, the activists of different Shia organisation took out rally in protest against the Shikarpur tragedy in which more than 62 worshippers were martyred while offering Friday prayers.
Led by Hussaini Alliance District President Syed Hussain Ali Shah and office-bearers of Imamia students, Majlas-e-Wahdatul Musleem Liaqat Zawar Khannoo, Malik Wazir Ahmad Awan, Abid Hussain, Syed Bawa Ghulam Abbas, Syed Maman Shah holding placards and banners, raised slogans against the government paraded different roads and demonstrated in front of Press Club Hafizabad. They vehemently condemned the massacre of Muslims while offering prayers in Imambargah at Shikarpur and called upon the government as well as the law enforcement agencies to take concrete steps to stop target killing. They said the Sindh Government had absolutely failed to provide protection to its citizens.
