11 SIs, 16 ASIs promoted

Islamabad - Islamabad police have promoted 11 sub-inspectors and 16 assistant sub-inspectors to the next rank. A ceremony to pin the badges to these police officials was held yesterday at Rescue-15 office which was attended by SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani, SP (Industrial Area) Muhammad Aamir Niazi, ASP (Margallah) Umer Khan, DSP Arshad Ali Khokhar and other senior police officials. Those who have been elevated to the rank of inspectors include Muhammad Abbass, Nazeer Ahmed Sipra, Mehar Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Yaseen Bhutta, Muneer Hussain Jafferi, Falak Sher, Dilawar Hussain, Siraj Wali, Qasim Ali and Abbas Khan. Those promoted to the rank of sub-inspector include Muhammad Saleem, Javed Alam, Feroz Khan, Sajid Mehmud, Tariq Mehmud, Muhammad Feroz, Muhammad Sharif, Iftikhar Hussain, Azam Khan, Muhammad Shafi, Liaqat Ali, Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Arshad, Gulfaraz Khan, Tariq Saeed and Muhammad Naseem. Separately, Islamabad police have arrested six outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered a stolen bike, weapons and other things from their possession, a police spokesman said yesterday.
According to details, CIA police arrested a bike-lifter Waqas and recovered a stolen bike (RIN-5635) from him. Karachi Company police apprehended an impersonator Jameel Ahmed and recovered one dagger from him.
A police team arrested two accused Nasir Iqbal and Adnan for having stolen items. Kohsar police nabbed Haroon Masih for his alleged involvement in a murder case while Nilor police recovered one Kalashnikov along with ammunition from Aqarib Hussain. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, three professional alms-seekers were also arrested and action has been initiated against them.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that responsibilities of the promoted officers have increased and they have to work with more dedication to accomplish their task. He hoped for their better output in future and urged them to work hard for protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
