LAHORE - The leading schools systems have announced resumption of educational activities today (Tuesday) on the assurance of government to remove their reservations over security steps.
Private schools except 12 leading chains of schools have already resumed educational activities alongside public sector and missionary institutions.
Minister Education Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan and DCO Muhammad Usman assured a delegation of the All-Pakistan Private Schools Federation and Parents Committee to address all grievances regarding process of implementation on SOPS for security of schools.
The government team assured the delegates that a notification regarding SOPs for security of A and a plus category schools would be issued after due consultation with the relevant institutions.
Rana Mashood said that the school management would have the right to verify identity of visiting government officials deputed for checking security arrangements. He said that this clause would be made part of the notification. He said that the parents were worried on closure of schools and it was also giving negative impression in the world community. He said that no compromise could be made on the security of students.
APPSF President Kashif Mirza said that the private schools have no objection to implementation of SOPs. He said that frequent raids and improper attitude of police and district administration officials were behind closure of schools. He said that the government team has addressed grievances and now remaining 12 school systems would resume educational process on Tuesday (today). He said that the educational institutions would not increase fee under the excuse of security measures.
