JAHANIAN: Veteran politician Javed Hashmi has said he does not intend to join any political party at present and he will decide about his political future at opportune time, in consultation with his friends.

He said this while talking to media men at the residence of former adhoc judge Lahore High Court Justice (Retd) Chaudhry Saghir Ahmad Dhallon.

He held that decision from army Chief General Raheel Sharif for not seeking extension in his service tenure is a good omen. This decision has enhanced his esteem and dignity among the people, he added.

Commenting on government announcement for reducing petroleum products prices by Rs 5 per liter he said this reduction is highly insufficient. Government should provide relief to people by slashing petroleum products prices in proportion to reduction of oil prices in international market.

He went on to say that terrorists attack on Bacha Khan University at Charsada is a national tragedy. Closing down the schools for fear of terrorists is not a solution to this problem. Full security by provided to educational institutions to counter terrorism, he urged.

Pathan Kot incident is a deep conspiracy which is aimed at maligning Pakistan; he said adding government should take all political parties on board for the sake of lasting resolution of Kashmir issue and success of talks between Pakistan and India.
