KARACHI - Batting great and former skipper Hanif Muhammad has called for immediate removal of chief coach Waqar Younis to save Pakistan team from further disasters, embarrassment and disappointment.

"In think after such poor results in the last few months, Waqar don't deserve to remain the chief coach," he said this here on Monday after Pakistan's 2-0 loss in ODI series after 2-1 humiliation in Twenty20 Internationals. Pakistan suffered 3-1 ODI series loss to England under Azhar Ali and 3-0 whitewash under Shahid Afridi in T20 series. "In my personal opinion Waqar Younis has destroyed the environment of the team with his ego," he said. He made it clear that he had no personal vendetta against Waqar Younis but added great fast bowler of his era was not coming out of his playing days. He said he was not too hopeful in upcoming T20 Asia Cup and ICC World T20 the way things are going in Pakistan team. "This has created a bleak scenario.”

He said it was high time for PCB hierarchy to take immediate action of bringing Mohsin Khan as a chief coach. "Without creating congenial environments in the dressing room, no team can perform and excel," he said. He demanded immediate appointment of Mohsin Khan as the head coach of the national team saying Mohsin knows how to motivate and inspire the team to bring out the best from the players. "Mohsin created great atmosphere in the dressing room and that brought grand 3-0 success in Test series against England in 2012."

"Pakistan team was not that bad. Players have lost confidence due to bad situation in the dressing room and unnecessary pressure on the some players," he said. "I am deeply hurt to see Pakistan losing the winning matches. That was the clear reflection poor performance of the team," the Little Master said.

"Motivating the players is vital ingredients of the game which poorly lacking in Pakistan team. The team is badly lacking in confidence and consistency and there was clear likes and dislikes in the team which bring destruction,” he concluded.
