Rawalpindi - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja yesterday awarded a cheque to the citizen whose timely information to police had foiled a terror bid on railway track near Jhelum.

Meanwhile, the RPO also transferred three stenographers in the region. According to a police spokesman, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja granted a cheque of Rs 150,000 to a citizen Imran Hussain on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif as prize for saving precious human lives by informing police about a terrorist.

Imran Hussain had spotted a terrorist on 28/1/2016 while planting explosive material along railway track near Domaili Morr Bridge to target Subak Kharam, 104 down train, and immediately informed motorway and local police about the activity. Taking action, a police team reached the spot and thwarted terror attack.

Seeing police party, the terrorist hurled four hand grenades at them, besides opening indiscriminate firing. Later, the terrorist shot himself dead to avoid arrest.
