ISLAMABAD - The Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP) received snow grooming machine and ski equipment in a ceremony held at PAF Complex on Monday. Air Marshal Saeed M Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, who is also the SFP president, was the chief guest at the occasion. Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) secretary M Ali Gardezi handed over the keys of snow grooming machine to SFP secretary Air Commodore Qaswar Abbass Naqvi on behalf of government of Pakistan. The snow grooming machine would be used to move flatten or compact snow and make it as per the standards of international skiing. Talking to the journalists, SFP secretary said: “We are highly grateful to IPC minister, PSB DG and government for releasing special grant for installation of snow grooming machine, which was a must as per ISF directives, while IPC secretary M Ali Gardezi has also promised release of special grant for SFP.” When asked about why players from Naltar, Gilgit-Baltistan given priority for sending abroad and international competitions, he replied: “We are ready to extend all-out help, if kids of other areas want to participate in ski events or want to get training. Actually, this specific region is hub of skiing and players are coming from this part.”
