LAHORE - PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has said that the Punjab Local Government Ordinance, which envisages show of hand for the election of Chairman and Vice Chairman, is controversial and the Election Commission has not accepted the same.

The Punjab government is just wasting hard earned money of the people on constructing bridges and roads paying no attention to the public needs of health, education, clean water and employment, Wattoo told media yesterday.

The PPP provincial president also criticised the PML-N government for political victimisation and pursuing vindictiveness. The government anti-farmers policies are at the peak, he said adding, agricultural sector in Punjab has reached the verge of destruction.

No medicines and beds are available to the patients in the hospitals and in this deplorable situation, the focus of the government is on Orange Line Train. He said in order to meet cost of the train project, TMOs have been assigned to collect Rs10million each while expenses between Rs 166billion to Rs 200 would occur on the project. This amount is a loan which the people will pay, he added.

Manzoor Wattoo said the PPP Punjab Chapter would take active part in the Opposition protest against the Metro train in city on Tuesday (today).

He said the Opposition parties in the Punjab Assembly from 52 members and they will all gather at GPO Chowk to mount protest the government anti-masses policies of the government.

To a question former chief minister claimed the credit of taking steps during his rule in Punjab for necessary education of children or the parents would be taken to task and also education to the brick kilns children.
