Islamabad - The Islamabad High Court yesterday issued notice to respondents in a petition challenging appointment of Usman Akhtar Bajwa as Chairman Capital Development Authority.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah conducted hearing of the petition and issued notices to Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad, secretary Cabinet, secretary Establishment Division, secretary CADD and Chairman CDA.

The court also directed the respondents to submit their reply in this matter within fortnight and deferred the hearing.

Farukh Nawaz Bhatti moved the court through his counsel Taimor Aslam Advocate and cited Principal Secretary to PM Fawad Hassan, Secretary Cabinet, Secretary Establishment Division, Secretary CADD and Chairman CDA as respondents.

The petitioner adopted in his petition that authorities have bypassed the rules and direction of court by appointing a grand-20 officer as Chairman CDA and requested the bench to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents.

Subsequently, the bench issued notice to the respondents and adjourned the hearing with a new date in office.
