LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has criticised PTI Chairman Imran Khan for his party-led government’s failure to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“Performance of the person doing politics of baseless allegations is exposed. Instead of serving the masses, his party has wasted time in KP,”he stated on Thursday. The CM also questioned as to how the PTI would face the masses.

He continued: “Such political forces created hurdles in public welfare projects. Power and authority are the means of selfless public service and liars should fully understand that people cannot be served through baseless allegations. Sit-in group will have to be held accountable for wasting precious time of the nation and obstructing the public welfare projects. These elements will again be rejected in elections.”

On the other hand, he said the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has put the country on road to development. The chief minister also took swipe at the previous governments for what he called leaving the public in lurch.

Also, the delegation of Zorlu Enerji Group of Turkey called on Punjab CM. During the meeting, different matters pertaining to hundred megawatt project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Plant in Bahawalpur came under discussion. The Turkish investor group will set up hundred megawatt solar power plant in Punjab with 5.3 cent tariff.

The CM termed the establishment of solar power plant by the famous business group of Turkey with a tariff of 5.3 cent as an important development and said that we are thankful to the people and the government of Turkey. He said that no solar project has been established with such minimum tariff in Pakistan till today and added that Punjab government will provide every sort of facility and security to the Turkish investors. He said that provision of cheap electricity to the people will be possible through Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Plant Project. He said that Zorlu Enerji Group is a famous Turkish company which has professional competence in the energy sector. He said that bilateral friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey span over a long period of time and Pakistan’s close contacts with Turkey are now transforming into strong economic collaboration. The Turkish delegation was headed by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ibrahim Sinan. Director International Projects Mr. Ahmet Yagmur Ozdemir and Country Manager Syed Mumtaz Hassan were also included in the delegation. ACS (Energy), Secretary Energy, Chairman Solar Power Private Limited Chaudhry Arif Saeed and others were also present on the occasion. CEO of Alternate Energy Development Board participated through video link from Islamabad.


Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of senior journalist Mian Manzoor Shahid. In a condolence message, he prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.
