Dacoits on the loose in Kasur

KASUR -  Dacoits deprived citizens of cash and other valuables worth more than Rs1 million in different theft and robbery incidents here the other day.

In Theng Chang Chak 7 Pattoki, nine dacoits picketed on road, intercepted Ashraf and Shehbaz travelling in a truck and snatched Rs0.9 million from them. In Rehmanpura Changa Manga, seven dacoits barged into the house of Rafiq, held the family hostage and made off with Rs100,000 and one tola gold jewellery.

In another robbery incident occurred in Changa Manga, Ashraf and his wife travelling on a motorbike were intercepted by four dacoits and were robbed of cash and gold jewellery.

In Chunian, five dacoits intercepted Behroz Khan in a car and snatched Rs25,000 and a cell phone from him. Police registered cases and launched investigation.

THREE DIE IN ACCIDENTS

Three persons including a five year old boy were killed in different road accidents here the other day.

According to police sources, Saim, 5, resident of Bodla, was on the way back home along with his father when he was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley. In another incident, motorcyclist Irfan was died after being hit by a truck on Multan Road near United Factory.

On the other hand, Shahid, resident of Mustafabad, was driving a brick-laden tractor trolley.

He was crossing railway lines at Pial Kalan railway crossing when Fareed Express Train hit the tractor-trolley. Resultantly, Shahid was killed on the spot. Police are investigating the incidents.

FOUND DEAD

A girl was found dead at BS Link Canal Chakoki. Some passersby had spotted the dead body of the girl and informed Changa Manga police.

The police reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. "The girl was allegedly murdered and thrown into the canal by unidentified suspects," police said. Identity of the girl had not been ascertained till filing of the report.

PASSERSBY INJURED

Two passersby were injured in crossfire between two rival groups over a land dispute at Naul Autar on Thursday.

According to Kot Radha Kishan police, there was an enmity between Akram and Riaz over a piece of land. Yesterday, there occurred an argument between the two groups and situation turned tense. Both the groups opened fire on each other. During the crossfire, two passersby identified as Ejaz Ahmed and Karamat Ali sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital. Police are investigating.
