QUETTA - At least four personnel of Frontier Corps were killed and two others wounded in a landmine blast in Dera Bugti district on Sunday while a bullet-riddled body was recovered from Dasht area of Mastung.

An FC convoy was passing from Asraili Tahal area, some 10 km away from Sui area of Dera Bugti, when one of their vehicles hit two landmines, killing four security personnel and wounding two others. The spokesman for the Frontier Corps confirmed the incident.

Soon after the incident, security personnel started a search operation in the area to track down the miscreants.

Banned outfit Baloch Republican Army claimed responsibility for the attack. Separately, Levies men recovered a body from Kari Dhor area of Mastung district. According to Levies officials, the body had multiple bullet wounds and marks of torture. Sources said the slain was a resident of Machh and had gone missing a month back.

Meanwhile, at least six people were injured in a hand grenade attack at a shop in the provincial capital on Sunday night.

According to police, unidentified men riding a motorbike lobbed a hand grenade at Pan Shop located on Joint Road and fled the scene. 

Six people were injured in the blast which also caused damage to nearby shops.

Police and personnel of Frontier Corps rushed to the blast site and cordoned off the area. The rescue workers moved the injured to Civil Hospital for treatment. Three injured were identified as Ajmal, Waris Masih and Ameer Bakhsh. Hospital sources said the condition of the injured was out of danger as some of them were discharged after first medical aid.

Police have registered a case against unidentified people and started investigation into the incident.
