Commission on memo meets today




ISLAMABAD  - The judicial commission formed to probe ‘memogate scandal’ will hold its first meeting at the Islamabad High Court today (Monday).
According to press release, head of the commission Justice Faiz Esa Chief Justice Balochistan High Court has summoned the meeting which would be attended by Justice Mushir Alam Khan and Justice Iqbal Hamidur Rehman.
The commission has been invested with special powers enabling it to engage forensic and cybercrime experts for carrying out the investigation.
It is worth mentioning here that the PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif and eight other petitioners had approached the Supreme Court for the probe of the alleged memorandum written by Hussain Haqqani and delivered by Mansoor Ijaz to Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen.  After hearing the arguments of the petitioners the Supreme Court had accepted the pleas for hearing on Friday and had formed commission for the probe of the memo.
