LAHORE - PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said that the country was facing numerous challenges and only unity among patriotic forces could frustrate enemies.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he said, believed in the politics of nobility and discouraged confrontation. He said they wanted consistency in democracy and for the purpose, they had sacrificed a lot.
Talking to assembly members at his residence, he said his party was striving to turn Pakistan into a real Islamic welfare state in accordance with the visions of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. “We are also taking steps to alleviate poverty, injustice and unemployment by extending soft loans to skilled youths in Punjab province,” he added. Nawaz Sharif urged the elected representatives to have close liaison with people of their constituencies and resolve problems on their doorsteps.
