LARKANA  - On the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, a high-level inquiry has been ordered to investigate the corruption and misuse of billions of funds of Larkana Development Package (LDP) and other mega projects.

Sources said taking prompt action, President Zardari sacked Chairman Sindh Peoples Development Committee (SPDC) Shafqat Soomro on corruption charges. On the eve of 4th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, President Zardari had received complaints of misuse and corruption against Chairman SPDC and senior vice president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Larkana chapter. The President directed the Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to hold a thorough investigation into charges of corruption and bring to book all those found involved in corruption.
