Protesters staging a sit-in outside the Sindh Governor's House dispersed peacefully early Monday morning after police registered an FIR of the murder of a leader of the Pasban-i-Jafria.
Scores of people had besieged the governor house on Sunday evening and staged a sit-in in protest against the killing of Askari Raza. The protesters were demanding the registration of a murder case against a police official and a leader of the Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat.
A heavy contingent of police and senior police officers were present to tackle any untoward incident.
The case was then registered against ASWJ leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad also dismissed CID SSP Chaudhry Aslam and ordered a judicial inquiry against him.
The inquiry report would be completed within three days and Aslam could be arrested if found involved.
A leader of the Pasban-i-Jafria held Aslam and Farooqui responsible for the killing of Raza and the protesters demanded of the government to book them in the murder case.
