Water and food scarcity

It has been reported in your newspaper that this year wheat sowing has gone down by one million acres. This means Pakistan would need to import a million tons of wheat to feed the people. This episode is the direct result of India cutting off our water supply by building scores of dams on our western rivers ostensibly to generate power on run of the river basis while on structuring gates on the rivers so as to control the water flow. As such India is slowly but surely trying to constrict our jugular artery. This attempt to starve us by water deficit as it directly effects the food deficit in a country where population grows by leaps and bounds while wheat supply is decreasing each year is going to be harmful in the coming years.
This would be a sure recipe to create famine like conditions in Pakistan while our rulers are smugly reporting that India would release a minimum of water supply from Kishan Ganga dam on Neelam river which in fact belongs to us as per Indus Basin Treaty. When would our rulers wake up from their slumber?
