Army win National Senior Judo Championship

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Army won the 24th National Senior Judo Championship after securing 115 points with four golds, five silvers and one bronze medal at Qayyum Stadium Peshawar on Friday.
The events were conducted in 10 different weight categories in which all the provinces along with the affiliated units of Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) participated. Wapda were second with 105 points and five golds, two silver and two bronze medals while Railway earned 55 points with three silvers and five bronze medals and Fata earned fourth position with 25 points and one gold and two bronze medals.
The highlight of the day was astonishing performance of Fata judoka Qaiser Khan, who defeated South Asian champion Karamat Butt in the highly-charged match of the event. PJF senior vice president and ICMS chairman Malak Tajamul Hayat Khan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony while PSB Director coaching centre Peshawar Muhib Ullah, PTI member Dr Shehzada Urooj Awan and others were also present at the occasion.
