Free psychiatric camp by Fountain House

LAHORE ([PR): A free psychiatric camp was conducted by Fountain House at Wareesa Islam Trust, Gajjun Singh Chuniya district Kasur which has 35 small villages in surrounding. The place is deprived of any psychiatric facilities for the population of this region.

Fountain House team was headed by Dr Syed Imran Murtaza Medical Superintendent of Fountain House, along with psychologists Saima Nasim and Zareen Amir and Akram. During this free psychiatry camp team examined 156 patients including males, females and children. Different psychiatric disorders diagnosed in this free camp were depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia and Mental Retardation. Free medicines for one month were given to all patients and psychological sessions by psychologists were provided to patients during camp.

It was observed at free psychiatric camp in Gajjun Singh that 90 per cent of patients were suffering from chronic psychiatric illness but never visited to any psychiatric set up for treatment in past.

Dr Syed Imran Murtaza and team gave the awareness to patients and their families to avoid the faith-healers in case of any psychiatric problem and seek advice of some mental health experts.

Fountain House team educated the patients and their families that mental illnesses are curable if detected earlier.

Dr Syed Imran Murtaza decided to conduct free psychiatric camp at Wareesa Islam Trust Gajjun Singh after every three months and in between patients will be refer to Fountain House by the team of Wareesa Islam Trust for follow up; Fountain House will provide them with free medicines and check up..

Pakistan Stock Exchange awareness conference

KARACHI (PR): JS Global Capital Limited (JS Global) in collaboration with Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry successfully held an investor awareness conference for launching of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Business magnates and investors from all over the country participated in the conference and hailed the efforts of the Apex and Front line Regulators on their commendable effort on formation of PSX. MD KSE Nadeem Naqvi, Chief Executive Trade Development Association of Pakistan SM Munir and representatives from SECP graced the event with their presence. Participants of the event lauded JS Global for its untiring efforts in promoting and supporting PSX’s formation.

Speaking at the occasion, CEO JS Global Kamran Nasir congratulated all the participants on the formation of PSX, and apprised the participants about the improving outlook of Pakistan’s economy. Nasir emphasised that following the rules and regulations in letter and spirit will form the basis of increase in retail base in Pakistan. 

Nadeem Naqvi gave a detailed presentation on the amalgamation process of the three exchanges and the formation of PSX. He cited the formation of PSX as a major step to increase the participation of local and foreign investors in Pakistan. Mr. Naqvi stated that the formation of PSX is a step forward in progress and development of country’s capital market and congratulated all stakeholders on successful amalgamation of country’s stock exchanges.

He also flagged that about PKR 1,160 billion of equity capital and debt has been raised by listed companies in the past 10 years.

Nasir elaborated that JS Global has, over its shining history, many first to its credit and in line with their philosophy of Good Corporate Governance and promoting a culture of law abiding corporate he stated that JS Global is proud to hold first such sessions in Pakistan whereby investors are briefed in detail about the PSX and expressed his full support to SECP, KSE and LSE. Speaking on the occasion, a message from the Chairman SECP, Mr. Zafar Hijazi was read where he expressed gratitude on the formation of PSX and briefed the participants on the role of Regulators in shaping the capital markets of Pakistan.

Youngest Microsoft Professionals invited to Japan

LAHORE (PR): Ghulam Syedian and his family were invited to Japan by JP Trading Co. Ltd, where all expenses for the trip were to be borne by Pakistan Association in Japan. Syedian’s children Roma Syedian, Inam Ali Syedian, Subhan Ali Syedian and Sania Syedian are the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in the world. The Pakistan Association Japan will introduce these children and their expertise at various Japanese and Pakistan Community events. It is the aim of these community events to further improve Pakistan- Japanese national relations.
