LAHORE - Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed that provision of best medical facilities be ensured in all the hospital of province, saying that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

He issued this direction while presiding over a meeting to review provision of health facilities in hospitals, at Civil Secretariat here on Friday. Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Khwaja, Health Secretary Najam Shah, principals and medical superintendents of teaching hospitals of Lahore and officers concerned attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that like cities provision of best medical facilities for people of rural areas is the top priority of the government. He said that all possible steps are being taken to provide best healthcare to people at their doorsteps.

He mentioned that attractive salary package and other benefits are being given to the doctors serving in far-flung areas so that they could work with more dedication and commitment. He warned that no negligence and laxity would be tolerated in provision of medical facilities to people.

He directed the Principals and Medical Superintendents to ensure availability of medicines, missing facilities and cleanliness in all hospitals.

The chief secretary lauded the Medical Superintendent of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for better management whereas he directed the MS of Services Hospital to improve performance. The administrative and financial problems being faced by hospitals were come under discussion during the meeting.
