The well-conceived policies and better implementation brought about a 40 percent decrease in heinous crime including murder, robbery and street crime during the outgoing year.

Highlighting performance of the district police during 2015, Kasur DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said on Friday that result-oriented measures would be taken in 2016 to create a crime free society. He said that the CCTV cameras would be installed in every market across the district, adding that theekri-pehra would introduce in rural areas to prevent crime. The DPO pledged that tracker system would be placed in every vehicle of police while a Red Cell mechanism would introduced in every police station across the district for public complains and feedbacks.

Ali Nasir Rizvi claimed that in the next few days, SMS system would be introduced in all the police stations of the district which enable the public to make their complaints via SMS.

He expressed the hope that the introduction of new systems would improve dispensation of justice and would improve police performance.

FATHER OF EIGHT KILLED: A man was killed by four unidentified assailants in village Satuki here on Friday. He was father of eight children.

Liaquat Ali, a resident of Satuki, was asleep in his hawali. At the midnight four unidentified assailants scaled the wall and started indiscriminate firing. As a result Liaquat sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to nearby hospital from where doctors referred him to General Hospital Lahore where he breathed his last. The police have registered a case against unidentified killers.
