A man was killed by his cousin while another died in a road accident near Gojra here on Friday. Six persons also sustained injuries in the incident.

The accident occurred when a passenger van, coming from Sargodha to Mandi Bahauddin. As the van reached near Gojra its tie rod broke due to which it skidded off the road and plunged nearby fields. Suddenly fire erupted in the van as a result, a passenger died on the spot while six others sustained burns. Identity of the deceased could not be confirmed yet, however, the police have launched investigation. The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Mandi Bahauddin.

In Chak Saida, a man identified as Mukhtar Ahmed was murdered by his cousin. Zahid, a resident of Malakwal village reportedly, quarrelled with his cousin Mukhtar. As the situation grew serious, Zahid pulled out a knife and gave several blows to his cousin.

He sustained critical wounds and breathed his last on the spot. The police have registered a case against the accused.

HOUSE LOOTED: Five dacoits barged into the house of Waseem Shaikh in village Pindi Rawan and made off with cash and gold ornaments.

The bandits at midnight scaled wall of the house from the backside. The bandits tied the family members including women with ropes and made off with Rs260,000 and gold ornaments weighing 2.5 tolas.

The police have started investigation.
