ISLAMABAD - Islamabad district administration on Monday prohibited fundraising in any kind, as well as social, political, welfare, and religious activities by proscribed organisations and individuals, which are on the watch list of the United Nations Security Council in the limits of the city.
According to an order issued by the office of the district magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, it was brought to the notice of the administration that some organisations, which were under the watch list of the UNSC/designated organisations/individuals as per SROs of [the] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and proscribed/under observation organisation/individuals and also their subsidiary welfare organisations under [the] ATA 1997 were raising funds, advertising, holding events, and displaying banners for their organisation.
Furthermore, these organisations are also involved in social, political, welfare and religious activities, which are ultimately used for illegal purposes, the order further said.
The ban has been imposed under Section 144 of the CrPC 1898, it said.
The order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of two months.
However, even with the expiry of this order, everything done, action taken, obligation, liability, penalty or punishment incurred, investigations, enquiry or proceedings pending against offenders in the court of magistrates and punishment in respect of this order shall be continued or launched as if this order has not expired, according to the order.
