People are facing hardship due to the wrong announcement by the government regarding the increase in CNG prices, as most of the CNG stations are still selling it at Rs52 per kilogram.Earlier, the government announced an increase of Rs13 per kg in CNG rates and after passage of 20 hours the clarification was issued which said the announcement was made by mistake. It said the actual rise in CNG price is of Rs4.30 per kg (excluding taxes) or Rs5.58 per kg (including taxes) and not Rs13 per kg.The people had to bear the burden of the mistaken announcement as they continued to buy CNG during the last two days at Rs52 per kg.Meanwhile, the CNG Owners Association has convened an emergency meeting today to review the situation.
