This is with reference to notification of the Establishment Division of May 26 regarding reservation of a 5% quota for religious minorities in all federal government jobs in pursuance of a decision made by the federal cabinet. However, the advertisements for federal government jobs appearing in the national newspapers these days surprisingly make no mention of this minorities' quota. Can the Minister of Minorities justify spending millions of rupees for advertising job quota issue in the national newspapers and holding a Minorities Convention on the issue in Islamabad on May 28? Our powerful bureaucracy is still not willing to comply with the notification on this issue. -EMMANUEL YOUSAF, Lahore, via e-mail, June 27.
